  • Face-offs- Face-offs only occur at start of game.
  • Goals- Following a goal, the offensive team will clear the zone and allow the defensive team to have possession of the puck
  • Icing- No icing calls or two line pass calls
  • Penalties- Any penalty will result in a penalty shot
  • Severe Penalties- Our ref has the right to remove any player from the ice for an intentional infraction. This may lead to further suspension or expulsion from the league without reimbursement.

ADULT HOCKEY SCHOOLS

Russell Hockey has experienced instructors that will make playing adult hockey fun while also providing you with skills work, power skating, and positional work.

All of our clinics are open to both men and women of all skill levels! A typical class may consist of a 5 minute stretch/warmup followed by 45 minutes of hockey and skating drills. Whether you can only stop one way or can't skate backwards or haven't skating in 15 years or just a plain old beginner, the biggest factor is the decision to join a program like this. 18 sessions of conststant repetitive skating and hockey drills, you will dramatically improve no matter what skill level you are.

When our programs run

All of Russell Hockey programs run spring/summer (between April and late August), and fall/winter (between October and March).

Frequently Asked Questions

Are team entries allowed?

Game Of The Week is typically made up of individual players, and mixed groups of 5-10 friends who prefer to play together. We do allow team entries, but are strict on our screening process. Please contact a director.

What is the league skill level?

While in different location the skill level can vary slightly- we are typically average to low level (D and E level players, with the strongest players at a C level), however all of our locations are much less competitive than a typical mens league. We are made for players who simply love playing hockey, and want to feel safe out there. While the ref does keep the score, there are no stats/standings, no scoring title to chase. Across all of our locations, we are typically 30+ in age.

What happens if I sign up online?

When you register online, you will be charged the full cost unless you contact us prior. You will be put onto a team or school roster, and then will be contacted by email telling you what team you are on, or in a school case, when it starts. Schedules are posted.

Can I bring a friend out to play?

All people on our ice in either league or school MUST be completely registered and waivered. We do not allow "tryouts", or drop in people. If your friend is interested in playing with you, please have him contact us ALWAYS, and we will give them their options.
